Library Business Manager

This full-time employee serves as support staff in the library headquarters, performing administrative, personnel, and bookkeeping duties for the Lamar County Library System to ensure an effective, efficient, and productive workflow. These duties include purchasing; receiving; payroll; deposits; tracking and payment of liabilities, expenses, and invoices; other duties as assigned by Assistant Director or Director.

The position is based at our library headquarters in Purvis. The starting salary is between $30,000 and $35,000, depending on education and experience. For details, see the full job description.

At least two years of related work experience or education in business, accounting, human resources, office management or a related field is required. Associate or Bachelor’s degree is preferred and/or more than two years of related work experience in these areas is preferred.

Experience and proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office products is required. Significant recent experience with Quickbooks and Microsoft Excel is preferred.

Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills are a must, as well as the ability to organize administrative workflows.

While experience in libraries is not necessary, it will strengthen the candidate’s application.
